The Expedition 8000 salopettes are our warmest insulated pants built for the most extreme conditions, whether you’re summiting an 8000m peak or crossing the polar ice caps. Filled with 850FP goose down and built with robust and weather resistant Pertex Quantum Pro outer fabric, these salopettes have been developed to retain heat in the world’s coldest environments.

A downproof Pertex Quantum lining and boxwall baffle construction with differential cut maximise loft to improve heat retention. The chest and cuffs are filled with synthetic PrimaLoft Gold insulation, with a spacious kangaroo front pocket for storing frequently used items.

Providing protection from harsh conditions, the salopettes have space to accommodate bulky layers and the knees have been optimised for articulation to enable freedom of movement on challenging terrain. Featuring an extended length two-way front zip (ideal for relief), adjustable support braces, full length side vents and mitt friendly oversized features, these salopettes have been refined to cope with the demands of expeditions.

Pertex Quantum
Pertex Quantum uses incredibly fine yarns to create a very lightweight yet strong and durable fabric. Its softness allows it to use a down or high bulk synthetic fibre insulation.

Pertex Quantum Pro
A durable, lightweight, water resistant fabric that encourages down to fully loft. Packable, breathable, and protective, it’s ideal for use in changeable mountain conditions.

PrimaLoft Gold Insulation
Gold Insulation is a performance benchmark for all synthetic insulation, this fabric keeps you warm without being bulky and is very water repellent as it absorbs less moisture from the start than other fabrics. In addition, like the other PrimaLoft materials, it is very breathable, compressible and ultra soft.
